I was born and live in Huntsville, Alabama in the United States.
I have a strong interest in international development and social services.
I have a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Political Science from Auburn University where I focused my studies on International Relations.
I hold a Master of Education (MA Ed.) degree from the University of Alabama in Birmingham. I concentrated my studies in Special Education specializing in Learning Disabilities.
I was a public school teacher from 1997 to 2009 in Alabama and Georgia.
In 2009, I founded a Non-Profit social service agency known as GLBT Advocacy & Youth Services which eventually became known simply as Free2Be. Our mission was to end violence while advocating for the Human & Civil Rights of Sexual & Gender Minorities. I was CEO through 2017.
I have a TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) Certificate and teach English online.
I am currently earning a Doctor of Education (Ed. D) degree at Northcentral University in International Education. I am particularly interested in supporting oppressed populations in sub-Sharan Africa and particularly South Africa.
I have a Podcast called Free2Be Radio.
I hope you have a few moments to read about my work, watch a few of the videos, and look at the things I've written including my personal poetry.
I am always open to new opportunities including speaking engagements. I provide presentations and workshops which focus on diversity, inclusive practices, anti-violence, and oppressed and abused populations including the LGBTQ community. I look forward to knowing you. My personal e-mail is firstname.lastname@example.org.
