My Background

  • I was born, and live in Huntsville, Alabama in the United States.

  • I have a strong interest in international development and social services.

  • I have a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Political Science from Auburn University where I focused my studies on International Relations.

  • I was a public school teacher from 1997 to 2009 in Alabama and Georgia.

  • In 2009, I founded a Non-Profit social service agency known as GLBT Advocacy & Youth Services which eventually became known simply as Free2Be. Our mission was to end violence while advocating for the Human & Civil Rights of Sexual & Gender Minorities. I was CEO through 2017. Unfortunately, the agency closed in May of 2018 due to funding issues.

  • In 2018 I earned a TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) Certificate. I am member of the TESOL International Association.

  • In 2019, I began teaching English online to adults from around the world with Education First, the World World Leader in International Education.

  • I am currently working toward a Doctor of Education (Ed. D) degree at Northcentral University. In this program I am studying Global Training and Development.

  • I am a member of the Association of American Educators

  • I have a Podcast called Free2Be Radio.
